Wine Bars

Grapes Wine Bar

I absolutely love the atmosphere of this intimate hidden gem. With no more than 10 tables, dark wooden paneling, and stone carved mouldings, this cozy, but sometimes drafty space is reminiscent of a Spanish bodega. The space was originally created in 1926 as a writing room and the 20 foot high arched leaded window offers slicing views of the rundle rock hotel exterior and mountains beyond. The menu is small and the wine list is strictly Canadian. Try the Smoked Duck Breast With Mache Greens or “The grill” 10 oz Sterling Silver Rib Eye Steak with roasted fingerling potatoes, Okanagan cabernet-merlot jus, Café de Paris butter, and Ponderosa wild mushrooms.
They don’t take reservations, so be sure to get there early in the summer months and around Christmas.
